April 17: Traffic Update for I-40/I-240 Interchange

Headed to Downtown Memphis or Little Rock this weekend?

You’ll want to read this:

The I-40 westbound ramp to Little Rock will be CLOSED on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, 19 from 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. for crews to install metal deck pans on the new I-40 westbound flyover.

Looking ahead, on Saturday, April 25, from 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., one lane east and one lane west on I-40 will be closed to remove traffic control devices at Covington Pike and reinstall west of Covington Pike.

The work is weather dependent. Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances prevent this work from occurring as scheduled, it will be rescheduled. Detour maps and information will be provided on the project web site. http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/i40-240memphis/

Don’t forget:

Traffic is reduced to three lanes on I-240 eastbound beginning near the Walnut Grove interchange and extending to the I-40 eastbound ramp. The I-240 eastbound to I-40 eastbound ramp is reduced to one lane and shifted to new outside lanes. This shift and lane reduction will be in place approximately four months, through July 2015.
