Update 10/4/13: Links of love winner is announced during halftime of football game. AHS raises $3,728; Bolton wins with $7,025 raised.

A high school rivalry takes their competition to a whole new level. Links of Luv is a fundraising competition between Bolton High School and Arlington High School to see who can raise the most money for a local non-profit organization called Habitat for Hope. With less than one week left to go in the competition, Bolton has raised $3,232 and Arlington has raised  $3,400 for Habitat for Hope. The two schools will each be continuing to fundraise individually and at the football game on October 4th 2013, the winner of the competition will be revealed and all of the money raised will be presented to Habitat for Hope.

Habitat for Hope is an organization that provides practical and emotional care for families who have to come to the local area because their child requires care at one of the local hospitals. These families have come to the area not knowing anyone and not having many resources and Habitat for Hope comes along-side the families to support them while they are going through a rough time and do not have other support.

Links of Luv was born in the hearts of a few IB students after volunteering for Habitat for Hope.  One little girl they met battled hard for a year and lost her battle last December. Her fight and her story became a source of inspiration for these students at Bolton. They wanted to go above and beyond to do something school and community-wide to help families whose child is sick.

This rivalry is a different rivalry because the competition is not about what is in it for the teens themselves. This competition is all about the teens raising money for families who need it. The teens are giving back and making a difference while having fun and putting a positive spin on rivalry.
