Summer Reading at Sam T. Wilson Public Library

By Alda Booster, Librarian

The Sam T. Wilson Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is now underway.

The summer reading program is a free self-paced reading program that provides incentives for children and teens (and some adults) to continue to read throughout the summer.

The library also provides FREE programs like Mad Science, Dixon Art-to-Grow Van, and the Natural History Educational Co. of the Midsouth (who could forget Mrs. Alda holding that huge snake!). This year will also include some friendly competition between families, a scavenger hunt, and an art contest.

There are four steps to registration:

  1. Verify and update your library card.
  2. Determine the reading level of your child and fill out the registration form.
  3. Receive your Summer Reading Program number.
  4. Receive your calendar of programs.

If you would like more information about summer reading, please call the library at 901-867-1954. Summer Reading is sponsored by:  Sonic in Arlington, Wendy’s on HWY 64, Domino’s Pizza in Arlington, and FunZone901.
